# Trial and billing

> Understand the seven-day free trial, Dataset Pair limits, subscription checkout, and what happens when access expires.

Your General Validation subscription belongs to your organization. Starting a
new organization begins one seven-day free trial immediately, with no credit
card required.

## Trial allowance

The trial includes:

| Allowance | Limit |
| --------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| Trial duration | Seven days from organization creation |
| Active Dataset Pairs | Five |
| Total Dataset Pairs created | Ten, including archived and deleted Pairs |

A Dataset Pair connects one source dataset and one target dataset. Individual
imported datasets do not consume Pair capacity. Confirm the source and target
before creating a Pair because those selections cannot be changed later.

Archiving a Pair frees an active slot, but it does not restore a lifetime
creation slot. Deleting a Pair also keeps its lifetime slot. For example, after
you have created ten Pairs during the trial, deleting them does not let you
create an eleventh.

Open **Billing** to review your trial end, Pair capacity, total Pairs created,
and whether new Pairs and runs are allowed. Owners manage subscription actions.

## Subscribe

The monthly self-serve plan is USD 500 per month for five active Dataset Pairs,
with no lifetime Pair creation limit after paid access begins. Review the
current amount and terms in Stripe Checkout before subscribing.

As an Owner, open **Billing** and choose **Continue to checkout** when it is
available. Stripe collects your business name, billing contact's name, billing
address, and payment details. Paid access starts after payment is confirmed
and the subscription status is updated in General Validation.

A completed checkout page does not by itself mean a bank payment has settled.
ACH Direct Debit can remain pending during verification and processing. Your
original trial remains available until its original end while a first payment
is pending; the purchase does not restart the trial.

If Billing says online billing is unavailable, contact
[support@generalvalidation.com](mailto:support@generalvalidation.com) to
arrange continued access. The cardless trial does not depend on checkout being
available.

## More capacity

For a larger Pair allowance, contact
[support@generalvalidation.com](mailto:support@generalvalidation.com).
Enterprise subscriptions use an annual agreement and advance payment through
a customer-specific hosted invoice. Your agreement defines the allowance,
annual amount, and renewal terms.

## Renewals and cancellation

Eligible self-serve subscribers can choose **Manage subscription** in Billing
to update their payment method, view invoices, or arrange cancellation through
Stripe. A scheduled cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Enterprise agreement changes are handled through your agreed commercial
contact.

Refresh Billing after a payment or subscription change to check its confirmed
status. If payment recovery is needed, follow the action and access-end date
shown there.

## When access expires

Existing configuration, run history, and results remain readable after the
trial or paid access ends. New validation work is blocked until the
organization has active access again. Customer storage permissions still
apply when viewing exact values and evidence.

Reaching a Pair limit prevents additional Pair creation. It does not delete
existing Pairs or stop otherwise permitted runs on active Pairs. Archived Pairs
and their Tests remain available for review and cannot run.

Subscription cancellation does not remove customer Azure resources or their
retained data. To stop the execution connection, use
[Environment → Disconnect](/installing-general-validation#disconnect-and-resource-removal).
Your Azure administrator handles resource removal and Azure costs separately.
